“Euphoria” and “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Eric Dane will play a villain in the upcoming fourth “Bad Boys” film at Sony Pictures.
“Bad Boys: For Life” helmers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are returning to direct from a script by Chris Bremner, which sees several of the third film’s cast members like Paola Nunez, Vanessa Hudgens and Alexander Ludwig are all nack alongside franchise regulars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
Plot specifics for the film are under wraps though will likely pick up where the third film ended as Mike (Smith) and Marcus (Lawrence) have taken charge of the AMMO group of specialists. That includes those returning characters, but one absentee from the list is “Riverdale” alum Charles Melton who played an AMMO stafer in the third but whose involvement hasn’t been reported on at this time.
Pre-production is underway, with filming to begin shortly in Atlanta. The project has been fast-tracked following its announcement in February and marks a return to studio blockbusters for Smith following his 2022 Oscars slap.
The third “Bad Boys” film pulled in $426.5 million at the worldwide box office from a $90 million budget – the best of the franchise to date and the fourth highest-grossing film of 2020.
Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith, Doug Belgrad, and Chad Oman produce, whilst Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman and Jon Mone are executive producers.
