CBS has renewed its “The Equalizer” series reboot, starring Queen Latifah, for a third and fourth season across the 2022-23 and 2023-24 broadcast runs.
Lorraine Toussaint, Tory Kittles, Adam Goldberg, Liza Lapira and Laya DeLeon Hayes also star in the series which continues to be the top performer on Sunday nights for CBS. To date, the series is averaging 9.5 million viewers an episode.
Thom Sherman, senior executive vp of programming at CBS Entertainment, says: “‘The Equalizer’ continues to pack a powerful punch on Sunday nights, and we’re thrilled to have it back for two more seasons.”
The series also recently set new showrunners Joseph C. Wilson and Adam Glass. The series is also separate from “The Equalizer” film series starring Denzel Washington, though both are based on the original 1980s series.
