“Equalizer” & “Clarice” Ordered To Series

CBS has picked up three new series for next season and while it may have ditched its planned “The Lincoln Lawyer” show, it has picked up two other high profile dramas alongside the Thomas Middleditch-led multi-camera comedy “B Positive”.

Those two? The high profile Queen Latifah-led “The Equalizer” reboot, and the “Silence of the Lambs” sequel series “Clarice” starring Rebecca Breeds. All three shows have received straight-to-series orders, and new cast members for each have been revealed.

“Clarice” hails from executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet and has Breeds starring as brilliant and vulnerable FBI Agent Clarice Starling who returns to the field in 1993, six months after the events of ‘Silence’. Kal Penn, Nick Sandow, Michael Cudlitz, Lucca De Oliveira and Devyn A. Tyler also star.

“The Equalizer” is said to be a reimagining of the classic series starring Oscar nominee Queen Latifah as an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. Chris Noth, Lorraine Toussaint, Tory Kittles, Liza Lapira and Laya DeLeon Hayes also star.

When we’ll see these shows will depend on when Hollywood production will be able to safely resume which will then dictate when the 2020-21 season will start.
