With most of the cast locked yet unannounced, speculation is bound to be rife for the next few weeks over who is actually in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VII”.
One name that emerged today is newcomer Maisie Richardson-Sellers, an Oxford-trained actress who is said to be up for a key role following an extended casting search in London.
The role is thought to be for that of a “young black or mixed-race woman who may be a descendent of Jedi Knight Ben Kenobi”. Disney declined to comment.
The report comes as THR confirms that J .J. Abrams and Disney are planning to build out an extensive re-creation of Tatooine for the film.
However, rather than use the old crumbling sets in Tunisia, new sets will be built in Morocco where filming is slated to begin mid-May.
