Emmerich-Produced “Magic Flute” Sets Cast

Iwan Rheon (“Game of Thrones”), Jack Wolfe (“The Witcher”), Asha Banks and Amir Wilson (“His Dark Materials”) have joined the cast of the Roland Emmerich produced “The Magic Flute”.

Set to begin filming next week at Bavaria Studios in Munich, this is dubbed a modern retelling of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s popular opera.

The actors join some of the world’s most renowned opera stars like Sabine Devieilhe, Rolando Villazon and Morris Robinson. Shooting will also take place in Salzburg, London and the Canary Islands.

Set in present-day Europe, the story follows 17-year-old singer Tim Walker as he travels from London to the Austrian Alps to attend the legendary Mozart boarding school.

There, he discovers a centuries-old forgotten passageway into the fantastic world of Mozart’s famed work. Wolfe plays the dual roles of Tim and Prince Tamino, Rheon is bird catcher Papageno, Banks is Princess Pamina, and Wilson is Tim’s rival.

Florian Sigl directs the work which is aiming for release in 2022.
