EMH Returns In “Star Trek: Prodigy” S2 Clip

Paramount

In the wake of Paramount cancelling its kids-skewing “Star Trek: Prodigy” animated series back in June, both the show’s creators and its fans have set out to find it a new home.

As previously reported, the series had nearly completed its second season of twenty episodes before the axe was swung, and CBS Studios made it clear it would finish remaining post-production on those episodes.

That means there are twenty all-new and, so far, unaired episodes out there for the show to appeal to buyers. In an effort to drum up interest, Kevin and Dan Hageman have revealed a new clip from the second season premiere.

The clip sees Dal, Rok-Tak, Zero, Jankom Pog, and Murf going for a new internship’ under Admiral Janeway where they encounter another member of the Voyager crew – The Doctor. Robert Picardo reprises his role of the Emergency Medical Hologram for the episodes. The clip also shows off a first look at the new U.S.S. Voyager-A, which is a Lamarr class ship (named after Hedy Lamarr).

The first season follows a motley crew of young aliens who find an abandoned Starfleet ship and learn to work together as they go from the Delta Quadrant to the Alpha Quadrant.

In the new season, Starfleet has asked Janeway to observe a new wormhole – the same one the crew created when they self-destructed the Protostar.

Whilst it may have been pulled from the Paramount+ service, the series – which serves as something of a sequel to “Star Trek: Voyager” – has its first season available on VOD platforms.

Kevin Hageman indicates he’s “99% sure” the series will find a new place to call home, and only around seven episodes require further post-production. Those are expected to be completed by Christmas.
