Baz Luhrmann’s hopes to keep his “Elvis” film exclusively in cinemas for the full Summer have been dashed it seems as its coming to digital next week.
Warner Bros. Pictures has reportedly set an August 8th premiere date for the film both on HBO Max and on VOD platforms – exactly 45 days since its June 24th theatrical release. In addition, the film has set a September 13th release date for its 4K Blu-ray disc release.
Costing $85 million to produce, the movie has pulled in $235 million worldwide to date and will likely end its run as the second biggest earner of Luhrmann’s career behind only “The Great Gatsby” at $353 million worldwide.
