“American Psycho” and “The Rules of Attraction” author Bret Easton Ellis has signed on to adapt a film script from the novel “Downers Grove” for Mangrove Entertainment says Reuters.
Written by Michael Hornburg, “Downers” centers on Chrissie Swanson, a paranoid high school senior for whom graduating has become a matter of life or death.
Ellis has his sixth novel, “Lunar Park,” in development as a feature film with Palm Star Pictures. A film based on his work “The Informers” starring Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger and Brandon Routh just wrapped production.
Ellis also penned the screenplay for the upcoming Joseph Gordon-Levitt flick “The Frog King”, whilst writer/director Roger Avery is also developing Ellis’ novel “Glamorama.”
