Elizabeth Banks is set to join Melissa McCarthy and Maya Rudolph in Brian Henson’s long-gestating dark comedy “The Happytime Murders” for STXfilms.
The story follows two clashing detectives, one human (McCarthy) and the other a puppet, who are forced to work together to find the killer who is murdering the former cast of the classic puppet show “The Happytime Gang”.
Banks portrays a burlesque dancer named Jenny. McCarthy, Ben Falcone, Brian Henson and Jeffrey Hayes will produce and filming begins this week in Los Angeles ahead of an August 2018 release.
