EIsenberg Wants To Revisit Lex Luthor

There are plenty of things about the Snyder-verse films like “Man of Steel” and “Justice League” that one can criticise, and one of the more obviously divisive elements was Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal of Lex Luthor.

Eisenberg’s performance in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” was at least different to other incarnations we’ve seen, showcasing him as a hyperactive, arrogant, jittery, sociopathic young billionaire with a major inferiority complex and delusions of grandeur.

With Warners effectively abandoning the linked Snyder-verse films, it’s thought we won’t see Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor again, but the actor admits this week he’d to jump back into the DC film universe. He tells ComicBook.com:

“I would very much like to because it’s such a cool character. Playing a villain in a superhero movie is the fun part. The good guys are fine, but the villains are the fun part because they get to be a little bit more flamboyant. Of course, the hero gets to, you know, survive. But, the villain has all the funny lines. I don’t know about the first part, but the second part is something that I could definitely be involved in, sure.”

Villains have been something of a mixed bag for comic book films in recent times. The DC Films have had issues with the baddies in “Justice League,” “Wonder Woman” and “Aquaman” often being labelled as the weak link of the respective films.

Will Eisenberg get his chance? The character was last seen in a post-credits “Justice League” scene hinting at the formation of the Legion of Doom and its unlikely we’ll get to see that come to fruition.
