“Kingsman” and “Rocketman” star Taron Egerton has been cast as the lead in the action thriller “Carry On” for Netflix and Amblin Partners.
“Black Adam,” “Jungle Cruise” and “The Shallows” director Jaume Collet-Serra will helm the project which follows Ethan Kopek, a young TSA agent who gets blackmailed by a mysterious traveler to let a dangerous package slip through security and onto a Christmas Day flight.
Collet-Serra reportedly aims to get going on this quickly, taking a break from tentpoles to do this smaller straight-forward action thriller along the veins of Collet-Serra’s collaborations with Liam Neeson such as “Non-Stop,” “The Commuter” and “Unknown”.
TJ Fixman penned the first draft of the screenplay, with Michael Green doing the most recent polish. Dylan Clark will produce.
Egerton is coming off some of the best reviews of his career for his role in the Apple TV+ series “Black Bird”.
