EA has premiered its new one-minute live-action trailer for “Battlefield 6” and, in doing so, makes fun of celebrity-heavy “Call of Duty” commercials.
The commercial begins with actor Zac Efron, NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler, country singer Morgan Wallen, and British MMA fighter Paddy Pimblett assembled as a squad and walking in slow motion.
Within seconds, all explode as the ‘real team’ shows up of actors playing soldiers battling it out in a modern-day urban location, which they proceed to blast to smithereens.
Set in 2027, the game’s story explores a conflict between a fractured NATO and the private military company Pax Armata.
The new title features the return of a single-player campaign, a mode that had been absent in recent entries. This time though, single-player maps connect directly to multiplayer locations which allows players to trace events chronologically between both modes.
The “Battlefield” vs “Call of Duty” fight is expected to heat up in the coming weeks as “Battlefield 6” hits October 10th ahead of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 7” arriving in early November.
