Edgar Wright Sets Deal To Direct “Stage 13”

Filmmaker Edgar Wright has closed a deal to develop, direct and executive produce feel good ghostly tale “Stage 13” for Amblin Partners.

The story follows the ghost of a silent film-era actress that has haunted the titular soundstage of a backlot for decades. After a struggling director meets the ghost, they find an unexpected kinship and team to make their mark on the world.

SNL alum Simon Rich is writing the script, based on his short story, and also producing alongside Nira Park, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.

This follows on from news last month that Wright is directing an adaptation of the Adrian McKinley novel “The Chain” at Universal. Jane Goldman will write the script for that about a chain letter-like child kidnapping scheme.

Wright’s next film “Last Night in Soho” will debut in April next yesr.
