“Echo” To Lead Into New “Daredevil” Series

Marvel

Actor Vincent D’Onofrio has confirmed that Marvel’s upcoming “Echo” TV series will serve as a precursor to the return of the Man Without Fear in “Daredevil: Born Again”.

D’Onofrio played Kingpin in Netflix’s three seasons of “Daredevil” and then reprised a version of the character in the “Hawkeye” TV series – a show that also introduced deaf gang leader Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox).

Just as that show setup elements of “Echo,” so too will next year’s “Echo” lead into “Daredevil: Born Again”, which is due out in late 2024. Speaking at Salt Lake FanX, the actor spoke about his excitement for “Echo” saying:

“It’s like full-on in the last few episodes of [Echo]. It’s going to be quite something. And that leads into, of course, Born Again.”

A solid report earlier this year indicated that D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Charlie Cox’s Daredevil had been confirmed to return in “Echo”. Since then, more speculative reports have emerged suggesting Cox will appear in three and D’Onofrio in four episodes of the series, and there may be a cameo from Krysten Ritter reprising her role of private investigator Jessica Jones.

The series itself revisits Maya, whose ruthless behaviour in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.

Cox recently appeared as Daredevil in two episodes of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and is getting ready to shoot “Daredevil: Born Again,” which will film a whopping eighteen episodes for its first season.

“Echo” wrapped filming in August and also stars the likes of Zahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene. It will premiere in Summer 2023.
