DuVernay Adapting “Wings of Fire” To Series

Warner Bros. Animation, ARRAY Filmworks and writer/director Ava DuVernay are set to develop an animated series based on Tui T. Sutherland’s “Wings of Fire” book series.

The epic adventure series is set in a world entirely ruled by dragons. Across two continents and ten tribes, the series explores wars, friendships, and quests that span generations of dragon characters.

DuVernay will executive produce along with Sutherland, Dan Milano, Christa Starr, and Sam Register. The series spans fifteen novels, three graphic novels, and four short stories.

The books have sold more than nine million copies worldwide and been translated into sixteen languages. This will mark the latest television project for DuVernay who is currently under an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television Group.
