A July 18th 2022 start date has been set for filming on Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two”.
Josh Encinias, a producer at a screening of the film this week, has confirmed that Warners has set that filming kick-off date which is fifteen months ahead of the movie’s release in October 2023.
Villeneuve’s film will adapt the back half of Frank Herbert’s novel which will have plenty more screen time for Zendaya’s Chani who was mostly sidelined in the first film.
Plenty of preliminary work on the film is already well underway as the movie nears $300 million at the global box office. The next instalment is expected to be a theatrical only release as opposed to the current one which is still available on HBO Max through until November 22nd.
