Warner Bros. Pictures has moved up the release date of Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two” by two weeks. Originally slated for a November 17th 2023 release, the film will now arrive on November 3rd next year.
The shift comes hot on the heels of Marvel & Disney pulling “Blade” from that early November release slot and moving it to September 2024. With that evacuation, the “Dune” sequel not only gets the earlier slot but also keeps its plans for plenty of IMAX screens to support its release.
It also now has two weeks unopposed to make coin, getting out of the way of both a third “Trolls” film and Lionsgate’s franchise prequel “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” both arriving on November 17th.
Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Lea Seydoux and Christopher Walken have been filming the new film in Budapest.
