Both Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” and Cary Fukunaga’s “No Time to Die” have secured and finalized their opening dates in China.
The pair of big-budget tentpoles arrive in the world’s largest film market in the wake of plenty of other major Hollywood studio titles effectively being rejected by the Middle Kingdom including both of this year’s Marvel Studios films so far.
“Dune” will land on October 22nd, day-and-date with the North American release and its debut on HBO Max, while “No Time to Die” hits on October 29th – three weeks after its U.S. debut.
Both films boast large budgets and will need strong global sales to turn a profit, however piracy in both cases is expected to be a major issue due to staggered global releases.
