It seems Neil Druckmann, the director of the original “The Last of Us” game at Naughty Dog, will not be just producing and co-writing the upcoming HBO series adaptation it seems.
According to Slashfilm, a Canadian DGA listing indicates Druckmann is set to direct an episode of the upcoming series which is being spearheaded by “Chernobyl” showrunner Craig Mazin.
Druckmann joins a director list that includes some impressive international auteurs including Kantemir Balagov (“Beanpole”), Jasmila Žbanić (“Quo Vadis, Aida”), Ali Abbasi (“Border”) and Peter Hoar (“It’s a Sin”).
Production on the series is underway in Canada and is expected to run for much of the next twelve months.
