Oscar nominee Adam Driver is set to star in an adaptation of “Yankee Comandante” which hails from his “Take Shelter” and “Midnight Special” director Jeff Nichols.
The film is based on David Grann’s New Yorker article about two people who rose to the rank of comandante during the Cuban Revolution. One was Che Guevara, while the other was a man from Ohio.
Imperative Entertainment and 30West are in discussions with select studios about the film which aims to begin shooting next year. Driver was shooting Ridley Scott’s period drama “The Last Duel” when then pandemic shutdown order came.
Driver will be seen later this year in Leos Carax’s all singing musical “Annette” alongside Marion Cotillard and written by the band Sparks.
