“Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes was reportedly swamped by party goers at the Golden Globe awards after party at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday night wanting to know whether a film version of the ITV1 costume drama was in the works.
A source for The Sun claims “Julian was chatting with various film directors and movie executives about the show and the possibility it would make a fantastic feature film. Julian was explaining he would have to give the idea a lot of thought and that lots of people have already asked him about film rights.”
Any film would likely deal with a single event that engulfs the Abbey and its characters so that it doesn’t upset the ongoing TV narrative.
ITV is in the process of producing a third season which will be set in 1920 and 1921.
