Filmmaker Doug Liman (“Edge of Tomorrow,” “The Bourne Identity”) has signed on to direct a series adaptation of Bill Browder’s novel “Red Notice” (no relation to the Netflix film of the same name).
The financial caper meets crime thriller explores the author’s real-life fight against the Russian government. Browder is an American hedge fund manager who made his fortune in Moscow after the fall of the Soviet Union.
He and his ragtag team battle and expose kleptocratic oligarchs, endemic corruption, and the depravity of the Putin regime. Liman will direct the eight-part series, which has been adapted by Nicholas Martin (“Florence Foster Jenkins”).
Michael Kuhn is attached to produce. The series is being shopped to streamers and independent studios with plans for a Spring 2023 launch.
