The media controversy surrounding Olivia Wilde’s “Don’t Worry Darling” doesn’t seem to have hurt anticipation for the movie.
IMAX and Warner Bros. Discovery are reporting that “Don’t Worry Darling: The IMAX Live Experience” has become the fastest-selling IMAX Live event to date.
The paid sneak preview on September 19th has sold more than 13,000 tickets across more than 100 IMAX locations throughout North America so far with 21 locations sold out in 24 hours and more than 15 others at least 50% sold out as of this morning.
The event will feature an exclusive Q&A with Wilde and most of the cast (Harry Styles, Gemma Chan, Nick Kroll, Sydney Chandler, Kate Berland, Asif Ali and Douglas Smith).
The R-rated adult original thriller came in at a reported tight $25 million budget, and long-range forecasts have been predicting a domestic opening weekend in the $13-19 million range – this could boost those projections higher.
