Adam McKay’s divisive and much talked about climate change satire “Don’t Look Up” is on track to be one of Netflix’s biggest film launches to date.
The film pulled in the most viewing hours for a movie in a single week in Netflix’s history according to the streamer with 152.29 million hours watched globally in the week December 27th-January 2nd.
Netflix’s main measure though is how much a film is watched in its first 28 days on the service with current champs being “Bird Box” (282 million) and “Red Notice” (364 million).
At the twelve-day mark, the Leonardo Di Caprio and Jennifer Lawrence-led film had racked up 263.3 million hours viewed, making it the third-most-watched feature – and that’s with sixteen more days yet to be counted.
On Wednesday, McKay tweeted he was “straight-up flabbergasted” by the numbers the film was receiving.
