Dominic West In Talks To Play Prince Charles

“The Wire” and “The Affair” actor Dominic West is in talks to play Prince Charles in the fifth and sixth season of Netflix’s “The Crown”.

“God’s Own Country” breakout Josh O’Connor has drawn rave reviews for his version of Charles in the third season and reprises it for the fourth season next month.

The series changes its entire cast every two seasons to age up the actors, with West taking over the role for the fifth run which has Imelda Staunton replacing Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II.

West has been making headlines in the UK recently after semi-intimate photographs of him and actress Lily James were published last week, prompting him to pose with his aristocrat wife Catherine Fitzgerald for a kiss photo and leave a handwritten letter saying their ‘marriage is strong’.

In the new episodes, West would be playing Prince Charles at a time when it was revealed that he was having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles whilst married to Princess Diana. Parker Bowles is now Charles’ second wife.

The fifth season has also cast Leslie Manville will play Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana.
