Campbell Scott will take over the role of Dr. Lewis Dodgson for the upcoming “Jurassic World: Dominion” from Universal Pictures.
Dodgson was the contact of Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight) in the original 1993 feature “Jurassic Park”. His appearance was a single scene but many remember the bit as the pair discuss smuggling out dinosaur embryos via a fake shaving cream can.
The recasting comes as little surprise as the original actor Cameron Thor was sentenced to six years in prison in 2016 for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
Scott is a beloved character actor and is well suited for the part of a shady corporate type. In the first film Dodgson was the head of research at Biosyn Genetics, the major competitor of InGen. In the new film he will have been promoted to CEO and is likely serving as a villain at some level.
Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, Isabella Sermon, and BD Wong star in the Colin Trevorrow-directed film which opens June 11th next year.
