Highland Film Group

Story Syndicate is reportedly working on a feature-length documentary about cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Hutchins died in October last year after a prop gun held by Alec Baldwin went off during the production of the film “Rust”.

Rachel Mason (“Circus of Books”) is set to direct the film which will explore Hutchins’ life and work, and has been fully authorized by her husband Matt Hutchins.

Hutchins spent her youth living on a remote Soviet naval base and then in Kyiv, Ukraine, to becoming one of the independent film scene’s most in-demand cinematographers.

It will also explore the circumstances on the set of the western “Rust” in which Hutchins was fatally injured, and the emotional journey of those involved in the completion of the film.

Julee Metz will produce.
