Doctor Doom, Deadpool & Robin Rumors

Production on basically everything Marvel and DC has been grounded to a halt due to the strikes, from films in production like “Deadpool 3” and “Thunderbolts” to shows like “Daredevil: Born Again” and “The Penguin”.

Nonetheless, that hasn’t stopped the casting and story rumor mill from chugging along even as scripts are on lockdown and production departments are silent.

Over the weekend, three reports from long-time scoopers have cropped up, each suggesting different bits of information. How much of it is real is the question.

The first is My Time To Shine Hello who posted a scoop indicating their sources confirmed that “Dick Grayson will be around 13 years old in The Batman Part II” suggesting a very young Robin will appear in the Matt Reeves-directed sequel.

The scoop gained enough traction that The Batman has been a trending topic on Twitter in some areas. However, as has quickly been pointed out in responses, their source may be hijacking an old Robert Pattinson interview quote.

Ahead of the release of “The Batman” and talking about his love for the famous “Batman: Death in the Family” comic, Pattinson was asked by Collider about a potential Robin appearance in a sequel to which the actor said: “Yeah, but he has to be 13. That’s the only way I’ll accept it.”

Next up comes scooper Daniel Richtman (via Screen Geek) who reports that at least one other variant of Deadpool will show up in the upcoming “Deadpool 3” movie – they’ve heard this variant known as ‘Kidpool’ (a child version of Wade Wilson).

Finally, the wildest and most interesting of the rumors comes from GFR who claims their “trusted and proven sources” tell them that before the SAG-AFTRA strike began, Josh Hartnett was “officially offered the role of Marvel’s Doctor Doom”.

They add if he says yes, his part in the film will be a relatively small one but set up for major appearances later.

“Deadpool 3” is scheduled to hit cinemas on May 3rd 2024, “Fantastic Four” is slated for May 2025 and “The Batman Part II” is slated for October 2025.
