Disney’s already under much scrutiny live-action “Snow White” remake wrapped filming a year ago, and officially it’s headed for a March 22nd 2024 release.
Now though, a new report at Puck News (The Direct) suggests the movie will “almost certainly” be delayed to a later date.
The Direct also indicates that reshoots have been called for on the film, and with the ongoing actor’s strike the Mouse House may have no choice but to push it back.
The DisInsider recently reported that Rachel Zegler’s performance in the title role was loved by a test screening audience.
The movie, co-written by “Barbie” helmer Greta Gerwig, will see its dwarfs replaced by ‘fantastical beings’ and its Prince Charming essentially removed. Gal Gadot co-stars as the evil Queen in the film which continues Disney’s successful trend of adapting its beloved animated properties into live-action form.
A move wouldn’t be a huge surprise as March has suddenly become an intensely crowded period at the box-office with “Dune: Part Two,” “A Quiet Place: Day One,” “Kung Fu Panda 4,” the “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” sequel, Bong Joon ho’s “Mickey 17,” the Ryan Gosling-led “The Fall Guy,” and Disney’s own animated “Elio” all opening in the span of four weeks.
