Walt Disney Pictures may have delayed “Black Widow,” but it’s sticking to its guns with its “Artemis Fowl” adaptation, releasing a new trailer today timed with St. Patrick’s Day which has had the wind knocked out of its sails due to the pub closures in Ireland.
The Kenneth Branagh-directed take on Eoin Colfer’s beloved book follows twelve-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance.
The previous trailers have come under fire for being a loose (at best) adaptation which is so different from the source as to essentially be its own thing. Ferdia Shaw, Lara McDonnell, Colin Farrell, Tamara Smart, Nonzo Anozie, Josh Gad, and Judi Dench star in the film which remains set to open in cinemas May 29th.
