It’s all grounding to a halt today.
Disneyland has announced that it will be temporarily closing both parks, including California Adventure, through the end of March amidst the global concerns of the coronavirus outbreak.
There have been no reported cases of COVID-19 at Disneyland Resort but after reviewing the guidelines of the Governor of California’s executive order, they’ve announced they will close the park from March 14th through the end of the month. The Hotels of Disneyland Resort will remain open until Monday, March 16th to give guests time to make necessary travel arrangements.
Meanwhile, the annual Tribeca Film Festival will no longer be taking place next month with its 19th incarnation having been postponed from late April. No new dates have been announced.
The postponement comes in the wake of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announcing that events of 500 people or more are banned due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.
This year’s line-up was to include premieres such as “Bad Education” starring Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney, the Elisabeth Moss-led “Shirley,” and the debut of Judd Apatow’s “The King of Staten Island”.
The decision follows the NBA, NHL and MLB postponing their seasons; multiple festivals and conventions like E3, WonderCon, SXSW & many of the TV upfronts all being scrapped or delayed, and multiple major and minor film releases all being pushed back.
