Disney Twisted Wonderland Anime Set

The official Japanese Twitter account for the Disney+ service has announced the development of an anime based on the Japanese smartphone game “Disney: Twisted Wonderland”.

That game sees characters from Disney films drawn in the style of manga characters. The series will be a collaboration between Disney Japan and Aniplex, and no further details are available at this time.

“Disney: Twisted Wonderland” launched last March exclusively in Japan and snagged 1.5 million downloads upon release. The game’s story focuses on the main character who attends the magical training school called Night Raven College.

The school boasts seven dormitories with each based on a different Disney property – “Alice in Wonderland,” “The Lion King,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Aladdin” and “Hercules”.

“Black Butler” manga creator Yana Toboso is credited with creating much of the game’s elements.
