It’s official, Disney’s recent live-action remake of “Lilo & Stitch” is getting a sequel. The studio’s official Instagram account posted a video announcing that the project is in the works.

Plot specifics remain under wraps with no casting news, release date news, director, cast, or story details available.

The original animated film scored two direct-to-video sequels but it’s not clear if either of those will be used for potential source material here.

Dean Fleischer Camp helmed this year’s live-action remake which stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo Pelekai, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani Pelekai, and Chris Sanders as the voice of Stitch.

The first film has made approximately $914.4 million at the global box office, the third-highest-grossing movie of 2025 behind only Chinese sensation “Ne Zha 2” and video game-based hit “A Minecraft Movie”.

The film, which scored mixed reviews from critics, is still playing in cinemas now. No word as yet on a disc or digital release date.
