FX’s Series “The Full Monty” Trailer

Disney+

FX has unveiled the first trailer for The Full Monty,” a sequel TV series to the iconic 1997 British comedy film of the same name.

The new film will see twenty-five years having passed in Sheffield since the band of brothers and former steel workers started their careers as strippers. Now long past their prime and deep into their middle age stages, their problems and priorities have shifted.

Robert Carlyle’s Gaz is attempting to reconnect with his daughter Destiny (Talitha Wing), whilst Mark Addy’s Dave is struggling with his marriage and working a dead-end job. Other returning cast members include Tom Wilkinson, Lesley Sharp, Paul Barber, Wim Snape and Steve Huison.

The original film was a major critical and commercial success, grossing over $250 million worldwide from a budget of only $3.5 million. It also was the highest-grossing film in the UK until it was outsold by “Titanic” months later. Since then, it has been adapted into a stage musical and play.

Searchlight Television, FXP and Little Island Productions are backing the new series, with Simon Beaufoy creating, writing and executive producing the series.

“The Full Monty” series premieres on FX on Hulu on June 14th within the United States. It’ll also air on Disney+ via Star internationally.
