Disney+ has premiered the first official poster for its upcoming eight-episode series adaptation of the fantasy adventure “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” ahead of the show’s release sometime in 2024.

The live-action series tells the fantastical story of the titular 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who is just coming to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt.

Now Percy must trek across America to find it and restore order to Olympus. The series star Walker Scobell as Percy alongside Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson, Glynn Turman as Chiron, Megan Mullally as Mr. Dodds, Olivia Morton as Nancy Bobofit, and Timm Sharp as Gabe Ugliano.

Also onboard as the Gods are Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus, former WWE superstar Adam Copeland as Ares, Jay Duplass as Hades, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Timothy Omundson as Hephaestus, Toby Stephens as Poseidon, and the late Lance Reddick as Zeus.

Author and executive producer Rick Riordan previously indicated work in the writers’ room for a second season had already begun despite no official renewal order being handed out.

The poster shows the official flag of Camp Hamp Blood, the hidden Long Island compound where Demigods train. James Bobin is directing from a screenplay co-written by Rick Riordan and Jon Steinberg for 20th Television.
