Disney+ Increases Its Subscription Price

In a case of incredibly awkward timing, Disney+ has announced the next round of price increases for its streaming services.

Disney+ will increase the monthly price of its Disney+ plan with ads by $2 to $11.99 per month. Its no-ads Disney+ Premium plan will increase by $3 to $18.99 per month from October 21st.

Bundle prices are also going up, with the Disney+ and Hulu bundle to jump by $2 to $12.99. The price of its Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Select Bundle (with ads) jumps $3 to $19.99. The price of its Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Premium (no ads on Disney+ or Hulu) jumps $3 to $29.99.

The price hikes also come after Disney launched its new ESPN app in August. Additional sports content is being used to help drive subscribers to sign up for its Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited Bundle (no ads on any service) which is still being offered at a discounted price of $29.99/month.

Disney has announced price hikes multiple times in the past, but this time they come at a very awkward time as some subscribers and prominent entertainment community members have called for the cancellation of subscriptions to the services in the past week following Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension.

Disney reversed course with Kimmel returning to his show tonight.
