Disney+ Adding Vertical Video Feed

Disney+ has announced that it will roll out its own vertical video feed in the U.S. later this year.

The feed will let users watch and swipe through short-form content from Disney+ on their mobile device, content that has been personalised for them.

Just what that content will be could be anything with Erin Teague, EVP of Product Management for Disney Entertainment and ESPN saying: “It could be original short-form programming, repurposed social clips, refashioned scenes from longer-form episodic or feature titles or a combination.”

It’s essentially the same as ESPN Unlimited’s ‘verts’ feed, which launched last year, but for Disney+ content.

Disney is also launching a new video generation tool for advertisers that lets brands create high-quality, connect TV-ready commercials with existing brand assets and guidelines.

The annoucement was made at an event at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Wednesday. All this comes ahead of the combined Disney+ and Hulu app launching later this year.
