Netflix has quickly shut down rumors that American actor Leonardo DiCaprio will appear in the upcoming third season of Netflix’s “Squid Game” TV series.

OSEN (via Soompi) reported that the “Titanic” and “Killers of the Flower Moon” star had allegedly completed a surprise appearance in the new season – the cameo “conducted under strict secrecy” during the shoot in 2024.

Netflix isn’t letting this report get out of hand though, the streamer swiftly dismissing the claim with a representative saying: “The rumors are completely false. Reports of Leonardo DiCaprio’s involvement in ‘Squid Game’ Season 3 are entirely unfounded.”

The report comes in the wake of the second season premiering just after Christmas and setting a record-breaking 68 million views in its first week of release – the most-watched first week in Netflix history.

Netflix also unveiled the first teaser poster for the third season which is expected to be the last of the ‘main’ series and will finish off many of the plot threads started and left dangling by the second season.
