“Diablo IV” Live-Action Trailer By Chloe Zhao

Blizzard

Blizzard Entertainment has released a live-action trailer for its major title “Diablo IV” ahead of the game’s June 6th release.

The game sees players create their character from one of five playable classes and guide them through quests and combat in the world of Sanctuary after the resurrection of the demon Lilith.

Oscar-winning “Nomadland,” “The Rider” and “Eternals” director Chloe Zhao directed the trailer alongside co-director Kiku Ohe. Dubbed ‘Saviors Wanted,’ the clip showcases the dark world of Sanctuary.

It’s a land plagued by monsters as the battles of the High Heavens and Burning Hells play out. As the synopsis puts it, we go on “a journey of destruction at the hands of Lilith, the Blessed Mother determined to rule over Sanctuary once more.”

Zhao says in an official statement to Variety:

“Working with Blizzard, we had the wonderful opportunity to bring the dark, thrilling and imaginative world of Diablo IV to life. Diablo fans are very passionate, and many have been with the game for over two decades.

We want to do right by the fans, honor the game’s rich lores and visceral world-building while evoking the strong emotions the players feel while immersing in the game.”

“Diablo IV” will feature cross-platform play and progression on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
