Activision Blizzard’s “Diablo 4,” which shifts the long-running game series towards the live service model, will reportedly be released in April 2023 with pre-orders to open in December according to Windows Central.
The article hints that said pre-order will grant players access to a beta possibly coming in February. The game has already run several private betas, with streaming video of some of them ending up online.
It’s expected there will be microtransactions of some kind, but they won’t be tied to player progression following the disastrous response to mobile game “Diablo Immortal” earlier this year which has the lowest user rating in the history of Metacritic.
Earlier this year an alleged internal Activision document listed The Game Awards on December 8th as being the kick-off of Activision Blizzard‘s promotional push for the game.
