Laura Dern, Benedict Cumberbatch and “A Quiet Place” kid Noah Jupe have joined “Nitram” and “Snowtown” director Justin Kurzel’s sci-fi feature “Morning” for SunnyMarch.
The story is set in a near-future where society has a pill that does away with the need to sleep. With the added help of an artificial sun, there is no end to morning daylight, living and work. However, as a young generation grows up deprived of sleep, they consider rebelling to reclaim their dreams.
Dern plays a recently widowed mother of a son (Jupe) and Cumberbatch is her late husband. As the son is drawn into a subversive underworld of dreamers, the mother must confront her nightmares and fight hard not to lose him.
Sam Steiner penned the script while Adam Ackland and Leah Clarke are producing. Filming dates have yet to be finalised.
