Acting legend Delroy Lindo is in final negotiations to join Mahershala Ali in “Blade” for Marvel Studios.
The Blade character is a human-vampire hybrid whose mother was bitten and killed by a blood-sucker during childbirth. He now hunts vampires.
The role was previously played on screen pre-MCU by Wesley Snipes, with Ali taking on the role in the new film.
Lindo’s role is unknown, but he marks the first piece of casting for the movie outside of Ali. Bassam Tariq (“Mogul Mowgli”) directs from a script by Stacy Osei-Kuffour (“Watchmen”) and filming aims to begin late summer 2022.
