20th Century Fox continues the most fun billboard campaign of recent times with the release of its R-rated comic book adaptation “Deadpool” on February 12th. It began with several billboards essentially selling the movie as a Nicholas Sparks-style romantic drama.

Then followed that up with an emoji-themed billboard spelling out the film’s title.
This idiotic/brilliant billboard is why I’m all in on the DEADPOOL movie. I’m an easy lay. pic.twitter.com/jSRorPvaCp

That emoji one drew some ire, and now the film’s star Ryan Reynolds has answered the complaints with something a bit more straight up.

With only a few weeks to go, expect the imaginative and ballsy marketing to continue for the near future.
