“Dead Space” Remake Opening 18 Mins

EA

Having done multiple developer diaries and shown off a few gameplay videos, Motive Studio has now gone a step further with next month’s ground-up remake of the iconic sci-fi horror game “Dead Space”.

IGN has posted a PC capture of the first 18 minutes of this remake of the 2008 original title, showing off the opening cinematics and early levels of the game which has been entirely rebuilt in Frostbite engine.

The story unfolds in the 26th century as engineer Isaac Clarke, a crewman on a repair vessel, boards the massive planet-cracking mining ship USG Ishimura which has gone silent.

After his crew is attacked by mutated human corpses, Isaac is forced to fend for himself as he tries to save his surviving crewmates and learn the truth behind the loss of Ishimura.

The clip released shows off the enhanced visuals with massively improved character models, a talking protagonist in Isaac Clarke, some new dialogue, vastly improved lighting, and more.

Motive has previously indicated the remake will be faithful to the original but will also feature deleted scenes along with new and expanded gameplay.

The “Dead Space” remake arrives in stores on January 27th for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
