“DC League of Super-Pets” Sets HBO Max Launch

Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed the animated superhero film “DC League of Super-Pets” will be coming to HBO Max on September 26th.

The jump to subscription streaming will come around two months since the film’s theatrical release on July 27th, one month after the film’s premium VOD release on August 23rd, and just over a week before the film’s physical media release on October 4th.

The film earned a worldwide theatrical gross of over $170 million against a budget of $90 million. Star Dwayne Johnson has previously expressed a desire to build a cinematic franchise out of the film.

Johnson stars as Krypto the Superdog and Kevin Hart is Ace the Bathound. When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack including PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle, and Chip the squirrel, to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the Super Heroes.

Voice cast includes John Krasinski as Clark Kent/Superman, Keanu Reeves as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jameela Jamil as Wonder Woman, Diego Luna as Green Lantern’s squirrel Chip, Natasha Lyonne as The Flash’s turtle Merton, Vanessa Byer as Wonder Woman’s pig PB, Marc Maron as Lex Luthor, Kate McKinnon as Lulu, Olivia Wilde as Lois Lane, John Early as The Flash, Daveed Diggs as Cyborg, and Dascha Polanco as Green Lantern.
