This year’s edition of the virtual fan event DC FanDome won’t be happening according to Popverse. Launched in 2020 and returning last year, the event highlighted DC Comics and various film, TV, and game adaptations either on air or in the works.
Speculation about the event has grown for the past couple of months, especially in the wake of a mass return to in-person events along with new owners Warner Bros. Discovery’s cost-cutting measures and the recent axing of various DC properties along with still vague retooling plans.
DC has already attended San Diego Comic-Con and is readying for New York Comic Con next month. In a statement to Popverse they say: “With the return of in-person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is excited to be able to engage with our fans live at numerous comic-cons around the world and will not be scheduling DC FanDome for 2022.”
