“Outlander” and “Bloodshot” star Sam Heughan is reportedly circling the lead role in the film adaptation of the PlayStation exclusive video game “Days Gone” at Sony Pictures.

Oscar-nominated scribe Sheldon Turner is reportedly adapting the script for the project inspired by the Bend Studios title, which has sold nine million copies.

Set in the Pacific Northwest after a devastating global pandemic, the story follows former motorcycle club member Deacon St. John as he fights to survive against mutated, predatory humans in his quest to find the long lost, presumed dead, love of his life.

Heughan will take on the Deacon St. John role played by Sam Witwer in the original game. Turner’s script will reportedly be a love ballad to motorcycle movies. He and Jennifer Klein will produce alongside Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan.

The project marks the latest in a slew of works from PlayStation Productions following the $402 million global box-office success of the “Uncharted” film earlier this year.

Next will be HBO’s high-profile “The Last of Us” TV series with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey and Peacock’s “Twisted Metal” series starring Anthony Mackie.

Also in the works are the Neill Blomkamp-directed “Gran Turismo” film, the Chad Stahleski-directed “Ghost of Tsushima” film, a “Jak and Daxter” film, Amazon’s planned “God of War” series and Netflix’s planned “Horizon” prequel series.
