The Matthew McConaughey-led inspiring fact-based women’s soccer film “Dallas Sting” has been abruptly cancelled six weeks out from filming in New Orleans.

According to The Wrap, the film was scrapped over an impropriety tied to the original true story that Skydance and the producers were made aware of.

After they investigated, the disturbing allegations were serious enough and the timeline tight enough that they had to pull out of the movie.

The cast has reportedly exited as well. McConaughey would’ve played the coach of a rag-tag group of Dallas high school girls who headed to China in 1984 and beat some of the best women’s teams from China, Australia and Italy. Kaitlyn Dever was also set to play his daughter.

Kari Skogland was set to direct the film from a script by “GLOW” duo Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch. Skydance and Berlanti Schechter Productions were behind the project.
