Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves and Julia Schlaepfer have all joined the cast of the “Yellowstone” prequel series “1923” for the Paramount+ service.
The series chronicles some hard times for the Dutton family as they struggle to survive historic drought, lawlessness, prohibition, an epidemic of cattle theft, and Montana’s great depression, which preceded the nation by nearly a decade.
The new faces join previously announced actors Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford on the series as married couple Cara and Jacob Dutton respectively.
Mann will play dedicated rancher Jack Dutton, Jacob’s great nephew. Randolph will play the feisty and capable Elizabeth Strafford. Dale will play Jacob’s oldest nephew and right-hand man John Dutton Sr. with Shelton as his dutiful wife Emma.
Geraghty plays fiercely loyal ranch foreman Zane, Nieves is government boarding school resident Teonna Rainwater, and Schlaepfer is British woman Alexandra.
Production on the new prequel series is already underway in Montana ahead of a debut on Paramount+ in December.
