The ESRB Classification Board has announced that the highly anticipated game title “Cyberpunk 2077” has scored an M rating, no surprise. What is interesting is why.
PC Gamer reports that the sci-fi RPG will allow character customisation down to a level that will include depictions of breasts, buttocks, and genitalia along with “various sizes and combinations of genitals” (ala “Conan Exiles”). So, just like real life.
That’s not all. Players can encounter events where they have the option to engage in sexual activities with other main characters or prostitutes. The brief sex scenes, from a first-person perspective, depict partially nude characters moaning suggestively while moving through various positions.
The Australian Classification Board has given the game an R18+ rating, and allowed it through unedited, but adds “the game contains no depictions of actual sexual activity nor does it contain explicit and realistic depictions of simulated sexual activity”. The rating is believed to me more due to what the ESRB says is “frequent depictions and references to fictional drugs”.
“Cyberpunk 2077” is due to arrive this Fall.
